Expectations for Students

Moody students in downtown Chicago

As a Christian community, faculty, students and staff are committed to maintaining an atmosphere which reflects our life in Christ and ultimately gives Him praise and glory in both belief and practice. We realize that it is impossible to create behavioral standards acceptable to every member. However, we feel it is essential to specify certain rules and patterns of behavior to ensure that this desirable environment exists within the context of biblical norms.

All students who attend Moody are asked to read the Student Life Guide on an annual basis. The MBI Policy Guide explains Moody's policy on entertainment, tobacco, dating and more. Upon reading the Student Life Guide, students are then asked to sign the Community Life Agreement located in their student portal under student forms. By doing so, they signify that they will conduct themselves in accordance with the stated standards.

Moody requires its students to live by certain standards which aid the community in functioning. However, in no way does the keeping of these particular standards make a person righteous. One’s righteousness comes through his or her relationship with Jesus Christ and living in accordance with the Word of God.
