Entrance Requirements
Membership is by audition- Membership is open to all Moody students, regardless of major
- Auditions take place during new student orientation in August. Auditions outside of this time frame can be arranged by contacting the conductor.
A typical audition evaluates
- The ability to sing your own part
- Pitch recognition
- Voice quality
Bell Ensemble Entrance Requirements
Bell Ensemble members are selected through a secondary audition process. Out of the larger group of choir members, 13 are chosen based on demonstrating good rhythmic skills and prior bell experience. Knowledge and ability at the keyboard or a similar instrument that involves good rhythm is a definite plus as the ensemble performs challenging hymn arrangements and handbell literature. The Bell Ensemble is a delightful way to learn about music and develop teamwork skills.
