Expectations for Students
As a religious community, our faculty, students and staff are committed to maintaining an atmosphere which reflects our life in Christ and ultimately gives Him praise and glory in both belief and practice. We realize that it is impossible to create behavioral standards acceptable to every member. However, we feel it is essential to specify certain rules and patterns of behavior to ensure that this desirable environment exists within the context of biblical norms.
All students who attend MTS are responsible to read and abide by the contents of the Moody Theological Seminary and Graduate School Student Handbook on an annual basis. The Institutional Preference Guide explains Moody's policy on entertainment, tobacco, dating and other topics. Moody requires its students to live by certain standards which aid the community in functioning. However, in no way does the keeping of these particular standards make a person righteous. One’s righteousness comes through his or her relationship with Christ Jesus and living in accordance with the Word of God.
