Counseling Services
Students at Moody have an incredible opportunity for growth in all areas of life. Counseling Services is committed to the Great Commission, and many students find counseling to be essential in their development as disciples of Christ. Counseling Services exists to provide Christ-centered professional counseling, consultation and education promoting healing, wholeness, relational health and spiritual maturity in the Moody community.
Staff and Services
The counseling staff includes three full-time and three part-time counselors who are supervised by the Associate Dean of Counseling Services. All staff members are licensed professionals who adhere to the ethical standards of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies and legal standards of the state of Illinois.
Students seek counseling for a variety of concerns including: anxiety, depression, spiritual issues, stress, abuse, trauma, relationships, sexuality, academic struggles and identity formation. Support and educational groups are offered for a variety of issues.
All sessions are confidential, which means what is said within the context of the therapeutic relationship stays between the client and his/her counselor. Limitations to this confidentiality exist where counselors have a legal or ethical duty to report. Each person has a right to privacy within our confidentiality statement.
