From the Word

At the age of six, Christ's love became so real to Nora that she could not resist his gift of salvation. Through her early teenage years, she grew to love God and His Word more deeply, and "I began to adopt my faith as my own," says Nora. "I developed a passion to serve my Savior with my life." During this time, she discovered a love for writing, and devoted her use of this gift to God's glory. This desire drove her to apply to Moody. "I knew this was the best place for me to be trained in serving the Lord," she says.

Nora's classes at Moody have had a deep spiritual affect. "There have been times when I am sitting in class, and suddenly God’s Word becomes so real that I am changed forever," Nora says. "The professors don't just teach you, they live life with you. Any time I am struggling, they are ready to walk alongside me in my journey to know God."

To Life

During her four years as an undergraduate student, Nora put her classroom knowledge into practice in a variety of ways. She helped to initiate a variety of ministries, including Frontlines, a ministry to Chicago's homeless population; a children's ministry and moms' Bible study at a shelter; a mentoring program in the Cabrini-Green Homes public housing project; and a mentoring program at Lincoln Park High School. "Moody is wonderful in allowing students to put into practice what they are taught in the classroom," she says.

After she completes her graduate studies, Nora plans to serve the Lord in the areas of discipleship and writing.  "God has given me a deep passion to disciple teens," says Nora. "I would love to start a Bible school for girls overseas, and teach them English and God's Word." She also hopes to honor God with her love for writing by penning books that will ignite readers' desire to know God.

"Here at Moody, I have fallen deeper in love with my Lord Jesus Christ," Nora says. "Here I have come to really know what it means to die to know Him, so that I might live to love Him more. Moody has truly been my spiritual classroom."
