Soccer

Overview

The vision of the Moody Soccer program is to create a competitive soccer environment that promotes individual and team, growth and maturity in Christ, equipping each member to share and reflect the gospel of Jesus to others through the sport of soccer.

The mission of the team is to honor God through our effort and through our pursuit of excellence. In the heat of competition, our team asks for Christ to work in us, so that we react honorably and productively with our emotions on the field of play. Our team goal is to win the NCCAA Midwest Regional Tournament and to earn an opportunity to compete at the NCCAA National Championship Tournament.

Our desire for the players each season and through their career is improvement. Our aim is for players to grow in their technical abilities and their tactical application of the game, and to become versatile players capable of playing multiple positions on the field.

The coaching staff values their roles as teachers and mentors. The coaches recognize that soccer is just one aspect of the collegiate experience for student-athletes at Moody. Through prayer, reading, discussion and goal-setting, staff work to equip players with skills and resources needed to become servant-leaders in the Body of Christ and in the world.

Moody Soccer participates as a member of the NCCAA Division II and competes against a challenging schedule comprised of NAIA, NCAA III, NCCAA I and NCCAA II opponents. Moody Soccer has won the NCCAA Division II National Championship in 1994, 2001 and 2011, while earning the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association Team Sportsmanship Award at the 2011 National Championship Tournament.

Moody Soccer has established a successful foundation, of ministry and quality play, through the efforts and faithfulness of previous coaches and players. Each year we desire to add to that legacy.
