Getting Started

Open Bible

The mission of Moody Distance Learning is to provide trustworthy, accredited degrees and programs that educate and enable students to serve their communities with biblical thinking and Christian living. To that end, we have translated the traditional Moody educational offerings into convenient distance learning formats that accommodate the educational needs of believers serving Christ across the globe.

Whether the Lord takes you across the street or around the world, MDL provides you with flexible courses and degree programs to further your understanding of His Word without having to leave your current ministry. You have the ability to choose where and when you’d like to study, based on your individual needs and interests.

With so many options it can be difficult to know where to begin. The following steps will help you select the mode of study that will best achieve your goals.

If at any point you have questions or would prefer to speak with someone, call MDL between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, at (800) 758-6352.

1. Would you like to earn a degree college credit or simply take courses for personal enrichment?

Both college credit and personal enrichment courses are offered through MDL.

If you desire to earn an accredited college degree, you will want to begin taking classes. It’s important that you fill out an Application for Moody to get started right away towards completing your degree.

If you simply want to learn and grow spiritually, without the end goal of earning a degree, you can register for one of many Continuing Education courses, purchase the AM Bible CoursewareTM, or even take a few college credit courses of your choice.  To take college credit courses without working towards a degree, fill out an Application for Non-degree Applicants to get started right away.

2. How would you like to take courses?

Once you have decided which type of courses (college credit or Continuing Education) you would like to take, it’s time to decide how you would like to begin taking those courses. MDL offers courses in three different venues or formats. You may choose to take courses in one venue only, or earn your degree from a combination of the learning venues.

3. What course would you like to take?

Now that you have selected the type of courses you would like to take, and the venue that is the most convenient, it’s time to select which course(s) you are interested in.

4. You are now ready to register!

The final step, after selecting the type, venue and course, is to follow the registration procedures outlined in Course Registration Information.

Please remember: If you have decided to take college credit courses with the end goal of earning a degree, or just to earn college credit now is the time to fill out and submit your application.
