Officer Certification

Public Safety is staffed by a combination of full-time police officers, full-time non-sworn staff, part-time professional staff, and part-time student employees. All full-time police officers have successfully completed basic police academy and are certified by the state of Illinois.

Moody supplements state certification with additional training requirements for first aid, fire safety, emergency operations procedures, use of force, criminal investigation, and trauma informed sexual assault response. Other professional development spans a variety of disciplines.
