Professional/Personal Interests:

Dr. Elizabeth Naegele has served as director of music and organist at First Presbyterian Church, Waukegan, Ill., since January 1990. She administers the church’s six music groups, supervises music interns from Moody, plays organ for services and directs the church’s orchestra and handbell choirs.

She is active in the American Guild of Organists (AGO), serving as sub-dean (program chair) of the Chicago Chapter from 1999 to 2006 and as competitions liaison for the 2006 National Convention Steering Committee, which planned the AGO’s National Convention held in Chicago in 2006. She is also very active in the Organ Historical Society (OHS) and served on the Planning Committee for the 2012 OHS National Convention held in Chicago.

She is an active organ recitalist and has performed for two national conventions of the Organ Historical Society. She also performs frequently with pianist and fellow Moody faculty member Un-Young Whang; in March 2013 they performed and gave a Master Class at the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, Mexico.

Dr. Naegele has enjoyed traveling internationally since growing up in Africa as the child of missionaries.She has traveled with the Moody Chorale on tours to South Africa, Greece, Central Europe, Great Britain, and Brazil, and has especially enjoyed visiting missionaries and former students in Israel, Uganda, Kenya, France, Austria, England, Belgium, Holland, Mexico and Brazil.
