External Scholarships

Expand your Funding Options with Outside Scholarships

Here at Moody, our Financial Aid team works hard to minimize the cost of your education with scholarships, grants, and other financial aid. External scholarships are awarded by organizations that are not necessarily affiliated with Moody Bible Institute, such as churches, denominations, foundations, and ministries.

These awards are based on merit, need, or ministry focus. Applications for these scholarships are highly competitive. If you’re interested, be sure to apply early!

Any and all awards will be applied directly to your student account. NOTE: They do not require repayment.

How Outside Scholarships Are Applied to Your Account

1. Research scholarships and grants.

Search out external scholarships and grants to see if you qualify for awards. Be sure to use reputable databases and organizations. Start with our suggested list below. We encourage all students to avoid scholarship websites that charge a fee.

2. Apply.

Take time to apply for each one separately, paying close attention to the requirements and deadlines listed on the organization’s website. External scholarships are highly competitive, so start early!

3. Send award(s) to Moody.

Include your name and ID on the mailed check:

Student Financial Services
Moody Bible Institute
820 N. LaSalle Blvd.
Chicago, IL 60610

4. Funds will be applied.

Moody confirms receipt and applies funds to your financial aid package.

Trusted External Scholarship Search Engines

Most external scholarship search engines will require you to complete a short survey. They will then match prospective donors with prospective students. You may then be asked to complete an additional application for that specific scholarship.
