The Gary. D Chapman Center is a four-story, 50,000-square-foot building that will host Moody Radio and Moody Publishers. They will collaborate in this state-of-the-art area of digital publishing, multimedia production, and cutting-edge technology.
Students enrolled in Moody Theological Seminary's Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MACMHC) and Moody Bible Institute's Pre-Counseling major will be able to intern at the Counseling Clinic and gain valuable practicum experience. For MBI's Communications students, the building will serve as a hands-on laboratory for training in a real-world media environment.
In September 2014, author and Moody alumnus, Dr. Gary D. Chapman, gifted Moody’s Chicago campus with a generous donation, allowing them to begin work on the Gary D. Chapman Center. The building is scheduled to open Spring 2018.
Current Chapman Chair, Dr. John Trent, will be located in close proximity to the counseling clinic, Moody Publishers, and Moody Radio. This will help foster collaboration as Dr. Trent serves as Moody Theological Seminary's voice on counseling, marriage, and family.
The Chapman Center will also include the Gary D. Chapman Library and Exhibit and will host a full collection of Dr. Chapman's works and counseling resources. A multi-media exhibit celebrating the life and ministry of Dr. Chapman in the area of marriage and family will be open to the general public. Dr. Chapman's books on love, marriage, and family are available on Moody Publishers.
