Training and Resources for Proclaiming God’s Word Boldly and Accurately
It’s fairly evident that American society continues to drift farther and farther away from traditional biblical truths. Believers today find themselves surrounded by a post-Christian culture where more Americans are spiritually lost than ever before. As a result, there is an unprecedented need for pastors and teachers who can persuasively preach the unwavering truth of God’s Word and the life-changing message of Christ.
The Moody Bible Institute created the Center for Compelling Biblical Preaching (CCBP) to provide exceptional biblical training, expertise, and resources to pastors and teachers for proclaiming the Scriptures accurately and courageously by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our overarching goal is to train 6,000 aspiring and maturing preachers across the country and 10,000 international church leaders over the next seven years. We endeavor to support the underserved populations and to play a part in equipping Christian leaders around the world who are unable to access formal biblical and theological training.
The CCBP is fully funded by the Lilly Endowment Compelling Preaching Initiative, and it was established in conjunction with the debut of five doctoral programs in 2024, Doctor of Ministry at Moody.
Mission, Vision, and Values
Mission
To improve and transform skills in proclaiming Scripture dynamically and faithfully, for the glory of Christ among the nations. When we speak of dynamically, we mean accurately, faithfully, boldly, courageously, and relevantly by the power of the grace of God through the Holy Spirit.
Vision
By the year 2030, the CCBP’s vision is to train 6,000 aspiring and maturing preachers across the country and 10,000 church leaders among the nations who currently reside outside the reach of formal exegetical, theological, and ministerial training.
Values
The primary goal of the CCBP is to foster and support preaching that inspires, encourages, and guides others to know, love, and faithfully follow Christ. We hold to six core values that support the CCBP’s Mission and Vision.
