MOODY SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
Each year Moody awards numerous scholarships and grants to students who are both worthy and in need of such an award. Moody is reliant upon the sacrificial gifts of our donors to directly fund every scholarship and grant.
The Timothy Scholarship is a special partnership between the student, the student's home church and Moody, where each entity pays 1/3 of tuition. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be meeting our standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress.
1. Apply for Timothy Scholarship
Download the application and follow the instructions to complete and submit.
2. Mail Application and Check to Moody.
Moody's Financial Aid Office looks over your application. Applications indicating your church's commitment are due prior to the start of classes each semester as indicated on the application.
3. Moody matches gift and pays up to 1/3 of tuition.
4. Student pays final 1/3 (or remaining balance).
The remaining amount will be covered by other payment options.
Need and Merit-Based Scholarships
Institutional Scholarships are awarded annually, up to $3,000 per academic year, and are based on a combination of need and merit. To receive these scholarships, students must enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester in a degree-seeking program (certificate and non-degree programs are ineligible), and must be meeting our standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Need is determined from your completion of the FAFSA
Merit is determined from academic history, references, ministry involvement and ministry intent upon graduation
1. Complete FAFSA
All scholarship applicants must complete the FAFSA (at fafsa.ed.gov) by May 1. International students are exempted from this requirement.
2. Apply for Moody scholarships and grants
Fill out the Institutional Scholarship Application located in my.moody.edu under "Financial Aid." This is due July 1 for returning students. New students do not need to complete this application.

4. Aid Applied.
Your award will be applied to your student bill. The remaining amount will be covered by other payment options.
Outside scholarships are awarded from organizations not necessarily affiliated with Moody Theological Seminary. These funds are awarded based on academic achievement, talent or other criteria. Scholarships usually do not need to be repaid.
1. Apply for scholarships and grants.
Research external scholarships and grants to see if you qualify for awards. Churches, denominations, ministries and other organizations often present scholarships to active participants.
