Your Home Away from Home

Commuter and Off-Campus Life

Whether you commute from home or live in an off-campus apartment, you are a part of Moody’s rich community, and we’re here to assist you! Off-campus commuter students pay per credit hour for courses and can keep a full-time or part-time course load, whatever best suits your needs! As an off-campus student, you have access to the benefits of Moody’s seminary activities and amenities that will not just support your academic goals, but connect you with like-minded peers who are passionate about transforming the world for Christ.

Seminary students may use the Student Dining Room (SDR) if desired, or feel free to bring your own meals! Several dining options, including three meal plans, are available for on-campus or off-campus seminary students. A twenty-meal ticket may be purchased for use in the SDR, resulting in significant savings over the cost per meal at the door. Meals are also available for purchase in The Commons, our retail cafeteria, as well!

Commuter Lounge

Take a break or settle in for a study session in the Commuter Lounge. Enjoy connecting with fellow commuters and seminary students! The commuter lounge has vending machines for snacks on the run, microwave ovens, a refrigerator, tables and a sink to wash dishes for students that wish to bring their meals.

Commuter Lockers

Lockers on the second floor of the Alumni Student Center are designated for use by commuting seminary students to keep personal items secure while on campus. To secure use of a locker, students can apply through the Office of Student Programs when they arrive on campus.

Parking is available on campus for a nominal fee. You must order a parking decal from Moody’s Public Safety office. For further information, please contact the Public Safety office at and they’ll help you get started!

Moody Commuter Pantry

One of Moody’s newest programs, the MBI Commuter Pantry, serves students to help them manage life emergencies, financial challenges and unexpected life circumstances. The Student Programs Office runs the pantry in order to help students move beyond the life challenge of food insecurity, have access to free and nutritious food, with the ultimate goal of helping students achieve academic success.

Solheim Gym

Seminary students have access to Moody’s state-of-the-art athletics facility, available for student, staff and faculty members. Solheim offers collegiate basketball/volleyball courts, an indoor running track, racquetball courts, an auxiliary gym, a fully-equipped weight room, and an aerobics room with spinning and stationary bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals.

Crowell Library

Seminary students have full access to the Crowell Library during library hours. The Crowell Online Library contains the full catalog available to students, including books, periodicals, eBooks and text references. Students may also request books and/or journal materials be sent to them directly from the Crowell Library.
