ART, MUSIC, AND THEATER
Ad Vivum travels to area schools and churches to present the message of true life in Christ through the medium of drama.
Art Society offers the student body opportunities to create and display their artwork. Art shows and workshops are also sponsored by the club.
Gleanings establishes a literary presence on campus to kindle passion for poety literature. Different forms of poetry will be explored so that students may find the medium that best resonates with them, such as lyrical, modern, classical, and abstract, sonnets, prose, and spoken word.
The Gospel Choir
The purpose of the Gospel Choir is to unify the body of Christ. The choir is composed of students and employees who share this passion. Concerts are held on- and off-campus.
Informal is a live comedy and impromptu show put on by students several times each semester. Each sketch is written and performed by students.
Shadowbox is a dramatic arts production team that exists to create community, opportunity and growth for the whole of the student body.
Zion's objective is to worship God through various dance, Bible study, and fellowship, while improving individual ability and corporate worship.
Music Department Ensembles
The four touring ensembles perform in Chicago and across the United States through two tours during the school year: Winter Tour (January) and Spring Tour (March). Every few years each ensemble embarks upon an international tour. Tours have been to places like Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Eastern Europe, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
The ensembles also participate in Moody's annual musical Christmas celebration, Candlelight Carols. Auditions are required for membership.
The Oratorio Chorus includes music majors and other students involved in the touring ensembles, performing selections from Handel's Messiah every fall semester and music from a variety of great works every spring semester.
