CHICAGO STUDENT LIFE

On-Campus Living

BI - Jenkins Hall

Jenkins Hall offers a unique living environment composed of apartments for both single and married seminary and undergraduate students, as well as senior citizens. These one-bedroom apartments are suitable for married couples without dependents and for single seminary students (double/triple occupancy).

The ground floor features a reading room, a lounge with a TV, a game room and a meeting room. All apartments are furnished with a refrigerator, stove, campus phone and access to the Internet. All utilities are included in the housing cost. The building also features laundry facilities. A Residence Supervisor also has an apartment in Jenkins Hall.

Meals

Seminary students may use the Student Dining Room (SDR) if desired. Several dining options, including three meal plans, are available for on-campus or off-campus seminary students. A twenty-meal ticket may be purchased for use in the SDR, resulting in significant savings over the cost per meal at the door. Meals are also available for purchase in The Commons, our retail cafeteria.

Library Services

The Sweeting Center is home to Crowell Library, which includes books, periodicals, eBooks and other traditional print media formats. In addition, it also houses an extensive audiovisual collection of video and audiotapes.

Off-Campus Living

Seminary students have the option of living on or off campus. There is an apartment book that lists apartments for rent as well as people who are seeking Christian roommates. This book is available at the Student Development Office for current students.

"The student community is the hidden curriculum at MTS. Without being accountable and challenged by other students with whom you can grow, you miss something important in your educational experience. There is something about being in community that is transformational."
