Music at Moody

The Music Department at Moody Bible Institute exists to disciple and train students like you to be skilled, versatile musicians who are theologically equipped to advance the cause of Christ in church, Chicago, and the world.

Our Music programs are designed to help you develop and master your musicianship. We offer courses for worship leaders, contemporary and classical singers, instrumentalists, songwriters and composers, conductors, music technicians, music teachers, music theorists, and more.

You will have many opportunities to work with our dedicated faculty through classroom instruction, applied music lessons, and music ensembles such as EverPraise and Ecclesia Worship Collectives, Chorale, Moody Campus Orchestra, Gospel Choir, and Jazz Band.

You can participate in annual musical productions, such as Candlelight Carols, a musical drama, and domestic and international ensemble tours. You will also have consistent opportunities to lead musical worship in chapel, and all music students present a final recital of their work.

Our heart is to train musically adept and theologically astute musicians. We invite you to join us in bringing glory to God through music!

Another unique advantage of our music programs is that every music student also receives rich training in Bible and theology (39 credits)! And all BA music programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

At Moody Bible Institute, we offer the following programs in Music:
