As modern culture becomes increasing hostile toward Christian belief, those seeking to live faithfully as believers in the world will face greater persecution. Some will become more reserved about their faith, while others will be tempted to respond to the culture with equal, Christianized forcefulness. Many will look for God-honoring ways to follow Christ’s lordship at all costs.
Facing similar persecution and decisions, Daniel, his sixth century BC companions, and the first century AD church answered the call to stand. They acted boldly, courageously, and steadfastly for Christ in the face of Babylons—governments, societies, religious groups, neighbors, and spiritual forces greatly opposed to Christ.
We will walk through the two books that record how the ancient saints honored Christ amidst hostile cultures by seeing him as the sovereign Lord over Babylon. Explore how to interpret Old and New Testament apocalyptic literature, the meaning of the books of Daniel and Revelation, and their application to contemporary life. Learn how to teach the truths of these books to equip your church members and help them grow in the knowledge of Christ.
