Student Groups



Moody student organizations exist to edify and mature our student body, honing students' gifts and broadening their knowledge of the world. Each of Moody's 40 student organizations has a specific focus and also helps to give students an opportunity to learn about issues such as leadership, cross-cultural understanding, mentoring, outreach, media, and personal wellness. 

Art, Music, and Theater

Ad Vivum

Ad Vivum travels to area schools and churches to present the message of true life in Christ through the medium of drama.

Art Society

Art Society offers the student body opportunities to create and display their artwork. Art shows and workshops are also sponsored by the club.


Gleanings establishes a literary presence on campus to kindle passion for poety literature. Different forms of poetry will be explored so that students may find the medium that best resonates with them, such as lyrical, modern, classical, abstract, sonnets, prose, and spoken word. 


Informal is a live comedy and impromptu show put on by students several times each semester. Each sketch is written and performed by students.


Shadowbox is a dramatic arts production team that exists to create community, opportunity, and growth for the whole of the student body.


Zion's objective is to worship God through various dance, Bible study, and fellowship, while improving individual ability and corporate worship. 


Music Department Ensembles

The touring ensembles perform in Chicago and across the United States through two tours during the school year: Winter Tour (January) and Spring Tour (March). Every few years each ensemble embarks upon an international tour. Tours have been to places like Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Eastern Europe, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. 

The ensembles also participate in Moody's annual musical Christmas celebration, Candlelight Carols. Auditions are required for membership.

Embrace is an organization designed to involve, support and minister to the African-American students on campus, and to promote multicultural sensitivity throughout the Moody community.

International Students Fellowship

ISF is an organization which exists to provide fellowship and assistance to the international students at Moody. This group also seeks to bring a cultural awareness to the MBI community. ISF sponsors social activities for all students throughout the year.


Kesher is open to students who have an interest in gaining a further understanding of Jewish culture and would like to be involved in ministry opportunities to the Jewish community.

Korean Student Fellowship

The purpose of KSF is to educate, equip, and engage the student body regarding Asia, specifically Korea. KSF exists to bridge the gap and embrace cultural differences among Moody's diverse student body. 


MuKappa is a fellowship for MKs (missionary kids) that seeks to offer support to MKs as they repatriate to life in the United States. MuKappa sponsors various outings throughout the school year, such as shopping trips, camping trips and other activities.


Puente is open to students who have an interest in gaining a further understanding of Hispanic culture and would like to be involved in ministry opportunities to the Hispanic community. Activities include a chapel presentation on Hispanic awareness and various outings to local Hispanic cultural events.


Student Government Association

Members of the Student Group Association seek to represent student concerns to the faculty and administration of Moody as well as provide social, spiritual, intellectual, and physical stimuli to the student body.



The service of this club is to stimulate fresh thinking among the Moody community regarding the integration of faith and justice.


Aletheia seeks to educate students on the doctrines of Mormonism and foster outreach opportunities and civil communication between Moody students and Mormon members.

Big Brother/Big Sister of Chicago

Big Brother/Big Sister of Chicago is an organization that affords ministry opportunities, such as friendship, evangelism, and discipleship, to children in Chicago. Activities include picnics, retreats, a Christmas party, and individual outings in the Chicago area.

Children’s Ministry Awareness Group

The purpose of CMAG is to educate, equip, and encourage involvement of the student body in ministry to children. 

Deaf Outreach of Chicago

DOC is an organization that focuses on equipping students with knowledge of the deaf community and sharing the gospel with them.

Frontlines Homeless Ministry

The desire of Frontlines is to minister to the homeless through first ministering to their physical and emotional needs.

Gospel Outreach

Gospel Outreach is a student-led ministry designed to provide students with opportunities to utilize their gifts to communicate the gospel to the unsaved in Chicago's inner city.

The Moody Debate Society

The Moody Debate Society is an organization that will give students the opportunity to clash their minds with the issues facing the world. 

National School Project

The purpose of NSP is to recruit and train college students to coach and mentor Chicago public high school students to reach their campuses for Christ. 

Ratio Christi

Ratio Christi seeks to encourage and strengthen the faith of students while sharing Christ’s message and love by the use of intellectual investigation and apologetics.

Resident Activities Council

The Resident Activities Council (RACO) exists for the purpose of planning non-academic activities and programs for the student body.


Seen's objective is to honor God in advocating justice locally and globally through prayer, raising awareness, and practical application.

Student Missions Fellowship

The purpose of SMF is to give information, provide opportunities and encourage students to become involved in the ministry of missions.

Student Theological Society

Open to all Moody students, this club is dedicated to furthering the educational scope of its members through debate, research, and discussion of theological and social issues. The club sponsors regularly-scheduled forums and debates on campus.

Student Wives Fellowship

The Student Wives Fellowship program provides support for the wives of Moody students through times of fellowship.

Timothy Project

Timothy Project’s purpose is to invite students to speak and critique one another. This allows for interaction with local pastors to gain insights into pastoral responsibilities and wisdom.


The purpose of Zoe is to raise awareness of the lives threatened by abortion. 

Student Media

The Arch

The Arch is Moody's annual yearbook distributed to students at the end of each school year. It contains pictures and articles which review events that took place at Moody during the year.

Illuminate Productions

Illuminate Productions is a group of storytellers that use the medium of audio to engage audiences and individuals through radio drama. Illuminate exists to create community, fellowship, and family for those who wish to utilize and strengthen their skills and God-given talents for the glory of God and the furthering of His Kingdom.

The Moody Standard

SI - Moody Standard CoverThe Moody Standard is Moody's student newspaper and is published twice each month. The newspaper contains articles written by Moody students about current issues and events relevant to students. The Moody Standard is also available online.

XN Campus Radio

XN is the campus based student radio station. The station offers opportunities for communications majors to sharpen their broadcasting skills.



The purpose of Bonded is first and foremost the education of the student body for the promotion of a greater unity amongst all students in regards to physical disabilities.

Counseling Services Support Groups

Counseling Services offers group counseling for all areas of life including grief, trauma, boundaries, dating, marriage, substance abuse, depression, sexual abuse, and identity formation issues. In addition to group counseling, Counseling Services has several licensed therapists available for individual counseling.

Journey Together

Journey Together is a mentoring program for female students. The desire of Journey Together is to link students with graduate students and female staff or faculty. 

Men's Ministry

The goal of Men's Ministry is to address the issues facing men realistically and biblically, in order to come to an understanding of biblical, realistic manhood. They believe that there are many guys on this campus that are desperately trying to be men, but they don't know how. "God has called us to be men so it is our desire to journey with our brothers toward godly manhood."


This is an employee run club with the purpose of meeting a need in the male student body of facilitating student relationships with male employees.

Women's Ministry

Women's Ministry exists to present the opportunity for women to be discipled in both a small group and one-on-one, while discipling others in the same way. Our goal is to send women into the world who are mature, equipped, experienced, and ready to disciple women in each of their future life seasons.
