Moody student organizations exist to edify and mature our student body, honing students' gifts and broadening their knowledge of the world. Each of Moody's over 30 student organizations has a specific focus and also helps to give students an opportunity to learn about issues such as leadership, cross-cultural understanding, mentoring, outreach, media, and personal wellness.

Core Leadership Groups

Kesher - Culture

Kesher is dedicated to reconnecting the student body with the roots of their faith by introducing them to Jewish culture and history. In doing so, Kesher educates and equips students to share the message of Messiah with Jewish people. Furthermore, Kesher fosters a biblical understanding of Israel's place in God's plan alongside the Church. Finally, Kesher creates awareness of historic and current antisemitism, challenging the Christian body to pray for Jewish people and stand against it.

Embrace - Culture

Embrace is an organization designed to involve, support, and minister to the African-American students on campus as well as promote multicultural sensitivity throughout the Moody community.

Student Missions Fellowship (SMF) - Service

Student Missions Fellowship (SMF) strives to fulfill the Great Commission through mobilization, prayer, and cross-cultural service. The purpose of SMF is to give information, provide opportunities, and encourage students to become involved in the ministry of missions.

Puente - Culture

The Spanish word "puente" means "bridge" in English. The goal of this group is to provide a connecting space for students who strive to be engaged in the Hispanic culture, have an interest in gaining further understanding of Hispanic culture, and would like to be involved in ministry opportunities to the Hispanic community.

Music Ensembles

The touring ensembles perform in Chicago and across the United States through two tours during the school year: Winter Tour (January) and Spring Tour (March). Tours have been to places like Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Eastern Europe, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

The ensembles also participate in Moody's annual musical Christmas celebration, Candlelight Carols. Auditions are required for membership.
