Undergraduate Tuition and Financial Aid
When you choose Moody Bible Institute, our Financial Aid team will work with you to make your education as affordable as possible. All of our full-time residential undergraduate students at the Chicago campus receive a full tuition scholarship thanks to generous donors (see below). For other costs like room and board, we will help you discover and apply for internal and external scholarships, grants, and other financial aid options.
Our Tuition-Sponsored Model
Thanks to the generosity of Moody's partners, full-time residential undergraduate students at the Chicago campus receive a full tuition scholarship, sponsored by faithful Moody donors! Off-campus commuter students pay $411 per credit hour.
How does it work?
- Student is charged tuition, room and board, and other costs and fees.
- Student completes process for receiving Federal Financial Aid.
- Chicago Undergraduate Tuition Scholarship covers tuition.
- Federal Financial Aid or other scholarships are applied to room and board and other costs and fees, and the student covers the remainder.
How Does This Differ from a Tuition-Free Model?
A tuition-paid model is often confused with a tuition-free model, in which an institution does not charge tuition. Moody does charge tuition, but this tuition is covered by the process explained above.
Fees
In some courses, fees for materials or resources are required. These fees are not covered by the full tuition scholarship. Please see our Academic Catalog for more information.
Room and Board
Moody requires all new students to live on campus except for married students and others with special circumstances. If you believe that you qualify for an exception, please email housing@moody.edu. Married undergraduate students should email the Housing Office for more information about on-campus housing.
Rooms are furnished with beds, dressers, desks, closets, and bookcases; students must supply their own linens, blankets, pillows, and other accessories.
During spring, summer, and winter break periods, returning students may request to stay on campus at an additional cost. This is called a Recess Residence Request, or RRR. If a student is working on campus during any break, they will receive 50 percent off the RRR cost.
Residence Life confirms employment. Graduating students must move off campus on the Saturday of graduation. If they have a job on campus that continues into the summer, they should contact Housing at housing@moody.edu.
