MA in Biblical Preaching

Master of Arts in Biblical Preaching

Study biblical preaching and exposition

Become a more experienced preacher as you earn your Master of Arts in Biblical Preaching at Moody Bible Institute Distance Learning. You’ll learn to prepare sermons from all genres of Scripture. Formulate your philosophy of preaching and integrate theology with cultural perspectives. You’ll practice communicating effectively as you develop the skills to assess your own ministry context.

Transition straight from your undergraduate experience, or refresh your ministry after years of practice. Take classes that help you sharpen your skills, like:

  • Methods for Biblical Interpretation
  • Hermeneutics for Preaching
  • Preaching Narrative and Prophetic Literature

Program Plan

After you graduate

Be an influencer as you serve in various positions in the church or workplace. Preach, explain, and actively live out God’s Word. You’ll use your relevant biblical training to assess cultural practices and deliver practical sermons. Foster effective character development wherever you are.

Cohort schedule

Join a cohort and learn together. A new cohort begins every semester. See your cohort schedule below.

As a student at Moody’s global campus, you get more than a Bible education. Our world-class faculty has traveled the globe ministering to others in Christ’s name, and they will train you to do the same. Your faculty mentors will help you develop your own ministry focus as you learn to apply God’s Word faithfully to everyday life.

“My favorite part of being a Moody professor is challenging students to view God and ministry in different ways, so they can become effective ministers of the gospel.”
—Professor Kerwin Rodriguez, instructor of pastoral studies
