Fall 2020 Semester Updates
Moody’s campuses will be open for the Fall 2020 semester! This web page will answer many of your questions about the necessary changes and adjustments to our learning formats.
As announced by our provost, Dr. Perry, we are welcoming students back on campus for the Fall 2020 semester. We will utilize a highly flexible (hyflex) approach to learning, allowing students to attend classes in person, online, or a combination of both based upon your needs and/or preferences and whether you reside on or off-campus. This new learning model will allow us to continue to deliver classroom teaching without interruption this fall, even if a resurgence of COVID-19 becomes a challenge for colleges.
A Summary of Plans for This Fall
- Chicago undergraduate and seminary classes will begin on August 17 as planned, and in-person classes will conclude the week of November 23.
- Our Spokane and Michigan campuses will have slightly differing start and end dates that are being announced directly from their respective campus leaders.
- If state or local agencies require that we discontinue our in-person classes due to COVID-19, we will not vacate our residence halls. Instead, we will complete the remainder of the semester using our flexible model where students can choose to remain on campus and in their residence halls, move off campus, or move home.
- We are implementing best practices as guided by the CDC and other health agencies to keep everyone safe and healthy, as well as maintain proper healthcare protocols to care for students who are symptomatic or become ill.
As information is finalized regarding the fall semester at Moody’s three campuses, we will continue to communicate in a timely manner. For specific questions not addressed in the below questions, please email email@example.com, call (312) 329-2020 or text (312) 262-5415.
Please let us know how you plan to pursue your studies this Fall. Please fill out this form by July 1.

While the beginning and end of the fall schedule is unchanged, our undergraduate hyflex classes will allow you to leave campus for Thanksgiving break and not return until spring, as you will finish your classes and exams online during the final weeks of the semester. There will not be a fall break for undergraduate Chicago students nor a break for the Missions Conference, which will be a mix of virtual experiences and evening presentations. While you are not required to return to campus after Thanksgiving, residence halls will remain open and Food Service will be available.
The schedule for seminary and graduate classes remains unchanged.
