Alumni Board Nominations

Vote for the Alumni Board

This year’s Alumni Association Board elections feature three new faces, replacing four alumni who are stepping down.

Nominees

Heidi (Stadt ’90) Butts Moody education, using her degree in Christian Education in various volunteer roles in the church and community, in the raising of three daughters, as well as in administrative roles in both public and Christian schools. Currently she is the assistant to Heidi (Stadt ’90) Butts the head of schools at a classical Christian academy in Ohio. She and her husband of 31 years, Bob ’87, live in the Cleveland area, where he leads Truth For Life, the Bible teaching ministry of Alistair Begg. Heidi and Bob have three married daughters. Heidi enjoys going to the lake, planning parties, biking, and gardening.

Lyall Sutton, MA ’94 is senior associate pastor at Bethany Baptist Church, Peoria, Illinois, where he has served for 32 years. He also serves on the board of Hope Alive Africa. Lyall is committed to introducing people to global ministry and has taken over 20 mission teams to five continents.

Juanita (Santiago ’05) Reyes was saved at Inner City Impact through a backyard Bible Club in Chicago and currently serves on ICI’s board.  Their leadership development program supported her to attend Moody Bible Institute. She graduated in 2005 with a BA in Print Media Communications—the first in her family to graduate from college. Juanita earned an MA in Journalism at Columbia College Chicago and has worked for CNN and other media outlets in the Chicago area.
Juanita married Eric Reyes ’05, a Chicago policeman who serves in a specialized unit.  They minister as elders at the New Life Community Church in Chicago where they started a young adults ministry and are now involved in the marriage ministry.  The Reyes have three boys and a baby girl. Juanita homeschools their children and enjoys peace and quiet (and sleeping) when possible.

Donald Polk ’14 received a Biblical Studies degree from Moody to augment his other degrees—a BA in Accounting, an MA in Clinical Psychology, and an MA in Counseling. Prior to working in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, Donald was part of the executive teams at three startup companies that eventually went global. The opportunity to travel internationally helped expose him to the great need for people all over the world to know and receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Donald and his wife of 25 years, Renee, live in the Bay Area and in central North Carolina. They travel back and forth, volunteering in their local churches.

Board members serve a three-year term and can be reelected to a second three-year term. Please join us in thanking the four board members who are stepping down this year: Steve Dutton ’86 MDiv ’92, Chris Drombetta ’14, Tracy (McPhail) Reed ’14, and Julie (Carlen) Ross ’80.

The board meets twice a year and represents alumni interests to Moody’s leadership and staff. All Moody alumni are welcome to participate in the elections. To cast your vote for this year’s board nominees, visit moody.edu/alumni.
