In a three credit hour course, you should expect to spend an average of 6-9 hours per week on your course work. Depending on your speed of reading and the number of particular assignments for course, you will be online approximately 2-3 hours a week. This time may be decreased if you download documents and read them offline and may be increased if you participate extensively in additional discussion board conversations.

The way our courses are set up, you do not need to be online at any particular time. However, the software we use for the online school is interactive. You will have a chance to communicate with the other students and the instructor. Communication is mostly through e-mails and discussion boards, so you can get online at the time most convenient for you.

Instructors are Moody full-time and adjunct faculty. Faculty members are involved in the development of courses as content experts and also serve as course instructors. Not only are Moody faculty experts in their respective fields, but many of them are also ministry practitioners who use their experiences in the class instruction.

You will need to purchase your textbooks before your course begins. You should be able to find your textbooks at a local or online bookstore. The required textbooks are listed in each course syllabus listed under Course Descriptions and in the Textbook pages for Undergraduate and Graduate online studies.

Interested students holding advanced degrees may wish to pursue the Master of Arts in Applied Biblical Studies. If students do not want to obtain an additional Master's degree and would prefer an undergraduate program, we recommend the Associate of Biblical Studies degree for foundations in Bible, Theology and Ministry studies. Different churches and ministries have different requirements, so if you are attempting to get a degree with a specific ministry in mind, we suggest first checking with the church or organization to see what educational requirements they have.

Moody offers a Master of Arts in Applied Biblical Studies (36 credit hours) and a Graduate Certificate (30 credit hours), though not a full graduate degree. Those enrolled in a graduate degree through Moody Theological Seminary can work towards its completion with online courses.

A maximum of 75 percent of previous college credits may be accepted as transfer credit from other accredited institutions in fulfillment of the required credits for graduation.

Only college level courses with a letter grade of "C" or higher are transferable; life experience, CEU credits, or Pass/Fail courses are not. Also, courses with "S" (Satisfactory) grade will not be transferable.

Moody does not consider life experience for college credit.

We only evaluate transfer credit for those who have submitted an Application to our Admissions Department. A full evaluation of your credits will be done upon your acceptance into a degree program. We would encourage you to apply.

If you have completed a bachelor's degree, we would not recommend that you pursue another one. We would advise you instead to pursue our Master of Arts in Applied Biblical Studies (36 credit hours) or Graduate Certificate (30 credit hours).

Generally, all 100 or 200 level courses can be used for the on-campus (Day-School) programs, while some 300 and 400 level courses can also be transferred.

Whether an undergraduate or graduate student, if you have not yet taken classes at Moody, or you have not taken a Moody class in the past two years, you need to apply to Moody before you can take courses.

If you do not wish to apply to a degree program, then you can apply to our non-degree program. Our non-degree program allows you to enroll in up to 12 credit hours, provided that you have met any individual course prerequisite requirements. Should you decide to apply to a degree program in the future, any courses taken as a non-degree student will be evaluated according to the requirements of the curriculum that is current at the time you apply.

If you are a student enrolled in another college, then you must apply as a visiting student and may take up to 12 credit hours to transfer back to your home school.

We encourage groups to let us know if they want to enroll together. For instance, chapter members of a campus ministry group might want to take a course in the Gospel of John as part of their group. Or, members of a particular mission agency might want to take a series of courses together to fulfill the continuing education requirements of their mission. Payments are made by credit card (Visa or Master Card) online through a secure payment service. This cost does not reflect the cost of textbooks as students are expected to purchase their textbooks at a local or online bookstore.

Students may choose to drop a Moody online course by going to my.moody.edu and dropping the course. The date the student drops will affect what is marked on their transcript. Call (800) 758-6352 for more specific information.

Note: A student who ceases to attend a class, in which he or she is enrolled, without officially dropping the course at my.moody.edu will receive an "F" grade in that subject. Please refer to our Student Handbook for further information.

Tuition credits are given based on the duration of the course and when you drop the course. For more specific information, please refer to the undergraduate or graduate school catalog located in any Resources page.

Yes, we do offer an installment plan. The Moody Payment Plan is an interest-free alternative to a lump-sum payment of the student bill. With this plan, you can make tuition payments on a monthly basis rather than having to pay in full at the time of registration.

While we do accept money from the GI Bill for courses, we do not determine the amount you can get. This is determined by the government. The amount that the VA contributes is determined by what program you signed up under (VEAP).
